Residence Visa (RS – Residencia)
General residence entry visa for foreign nationals approved to establish residence in the Dominican Republic (outside the pensioner, rentista, and investor tracks), leading to Temporary Residence (Residencia Temporal RT-9).
- Base residence visa (US$200 per the MIREX consular fee schedule), issued by a Dominican consulate to foreigners approved to reside in the country - e.g. for employment, marriage to a Dominican, or general settlement.
- After arrival the holder applies at the Dirección General de Migración (migracion.gob.do) for Residencia Temporal (RT-9), valid 1 year and renewable, which is the pathway to permanent residence and the cédula.
- Requires an apostilled birth certificate translated to Spanish, a police clearance certificate, a medical certificate, and proof of financial solvency (minimum RD$300,000).
Multiple Dependency Visa (DPM)
Multiple-entry visa for dependents (spouse, minor children) of foreign nationals legally residing or working in the Dominican Republic.
- Valid 1 year, multiple entries.

Diplomatic Visa (DM – Multiple)
