Airport Transit Visa (Type A)

Required for nationals of certain countries to transit through the international zone of a French airport without entering French territory, between two legs of an international journey.

Fee is EUR 90 (raised from EUR 80 effective 11 June 2024 per EU Commission Delegated Regulation 2024/1415; confirmed still current). Only required for nationals of countries listed in the common EU airport transit visa list (e.g. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Congo DR, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Ghana, India, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Turkey). Holders of valid Schengen, US, Canadian, or UK visas/residence permits are often exempt. Applied for at the French consulate.
