Residence Permit
Allows non-nationals to reside in Dominica on a temporary basis beyond the initial visitor admission period. Covers general residence including work and family residence purposes.
Fee: EC$250 for CARICOM nationals; EC$800 for non-CARICOM nationals. Applicants must first obtain an Extension of Stay from Immigration and regularize visitor status before applying. Required documents: 2 completed application forms plus medical form, medical certificate (no communicable disease in past 3 years, including HIV test and chest X-ray), two testimonials (one from last employer), banker's statement, police record, proof of return ticket or travel deposit, 2 passport photos, valid passport (6+ months validity), Treasury fee receipt, sponsor letter, marriage certificate (if applicable), and cover letter. Authorizes a non-national to take up employment or self-employment in Dominica for a specific employer/role; foreign workers must hold a valid work permit before commencing work.
Application fee EC$250 (approx US$93) for CARICOM nationals or EC$800 (approx US$295) for non-CARICOM nationals, paid at the Treasury. Valid for one year and renewable. A work permit automatically confers residency status if the term of employment exceeds six months. Requires two completed forms plus supporting documents: medical certificate (no communicable disease in past 3 years), employer letter stating job type and wages, police clearance, valid passport (6+ months), passport photos, and (for advertised posts) newspaper clippings advertising the position.
