Business meetings, negotiations, and managerial visits with a Saudi company or institution
Sponsored by a Saudi company or institution inviting one or more persons in managerial positions with an existing business relationship. Applied online through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa platform (ksavisa.sa / Enjaz), initiated by the inviting Saudi entity. Commonly issued as a single- or multiple-entry visit visa; validity and per-visit stay are set per invitation. Does not permit employment - a Work Visa is required to take up a job.

Short stopover or passing through Saudi Arabia en route to a third country
Free of charge (subject to applicable taxes and insurance). Valid 90 days from issuance; maximum stay 96 hours (4 days), non-extendable. Available to applicants of any nationality. A free stopover transit visa is granted automatically when flying Saudia or flynas; passengers on other carriers apply through the Enjaz e-service platform (enjazit.com.sa). Travellers transiting under 12 hours without leaving the airport do not need a transit visa.

Performing Umrah pilgrimage - for Muslim travellers
Issued under the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah via the official Nusuk platform. Open to Muslim travellers of any nationality; applicants from the roughly 66 e-visa-eligible countries apply directly online, others through an agent licensed by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Under 2026 rules the pilgrim must enter within 30 days of issuance and may then stay up to 90 days. Every application must be linked to confirmed Nusuk accommodation and transport bookings. Not available during the Hajj season blackout. Tourist e-Visa holders may also perform Umrah without a separate Umrah visa.

Performing the Hajj pilgrimage during the Hajj season - for Muslim travellers
Issued under the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah exclusively via the official Nusuk Hajj platform for pilgrims from serviced countries, and bundled with an approved Hajj package (housing, transport, catering, Mashair and guidance services). Single-entry and valid only for the Hajj season, whose dates are set by the Islamic calendar. Cannot be obtained through third-party agents outside Nusuk. The visa itself carries no fee, but package costs apply.

Employees under kafala require employer permission to change jobs (partially reformed via Saudi Vision 2030 labor reforms).

Two tracks: (1) Permanent Premium Residency: SAR 800,000 (approx. USD 213,000) one-time fee, lifetime residence without sponsor; (2) Temporary Premium Residency: SAR 100,000/year (approx. USD 26,667/year), annual renewable. No kafala sponsor required. Holders may work, invest, own property, sponsor family. Applied via pr.gov.sa. Available to select eligible foreigners. Initiated by a Saudi resident or citizen sponsor for first-degree relatives (spouse, parents, children). Applied online via the MOFA visa platform (ksavisa.sa) by the inviting sponsor, who submits an invitation request. Often issued for up to one year; per-visit stay and number of entries depend on the invitation and the sponsor's status.

Full-time study at a licensed Saudi university or educational institution
Sponsored by the admitting Saudi educational institution. Jointly launched by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the 'Study in Saudi Arabia' platform. On arrival the student is issued a student Iqama (residence permit) valid for the duration of the study programme. Government scholarship students receive full sponsorship (tuition, housing, monthly stipend, medical care and travel allowance).

Receiving medical treatment at a licensed hospital or medical organization in Saudi Arabia
Requested by a licensed Saudi medical organization on behalf of the foreign patient, permitting a visit to the Kingdom for treatment. Applied via the MOFA visa platform (ksavisa.sa). Private hospitals must attach a support letter from Health Affairs. Typically processed in about 3 business days (longer in exceptional cases).

Employer-sponsored short-term work permit for contracts of up to 3 months; the holder's status remains 'visitor' with no Iqama or residency required. Issued through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (Qiwa platform) together with the MOFA visa platform. Valid up to one year from issuance; the 90-day stay can be extended once for a further 3 months via the Ministry of Interior. Used for consultants, technicians, engineers and specialists, and for seasonal (Hajj/Umrah) assignments.
