Travel Medical Insurance Visa applicants are required to have medical travel insurance. The minimum coverage should be EUR 30,000.00. The insurance may be purchased in Bangladesh or abroad. The proof of insurance has to be submitted upon application. Important: If travelling to Greenland and/or the Faroe Islands, the applicant must make sure that the relevant destination is included in the insurance, as neither Greenland nor the Faroe Islands are part of the Schengen region. Exempted from the medical insurance requirement are those who: - Travel with a diplomatic passport - Apply for an airport transit visa - Are relatives of an EU citizen exercising their right to free movement, i.e. his/her husband or wife, registered partner, common law spouse, children under 21 years of age, older children who are financially dependent on their parents living in the Schengen area and parents who are financially dependent on their children living in the Schengen area.
