YOU'RE ADDITIONALLY REQUIRED TO POVIDE: 1. Visa application form (signed by the traveller in his/her own hand, for minors / minors by legal representatives) 2. A valid passport, valid for at least 3 months after the expiry of the requested visa (+ photocopy of pages 30-33 and all used pages with visas and stamps). (+ photocopy of pages 30-33 and all used pages with visas and stamps); the passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and contain at least 2 blank pages in the "Visas" section. If there are visas in old passports, it is necessary to attach photocopies of pages 30-33, as well as all used pages with visas and stamps. Photocopies of pages 30-33 and all used visa and stamp pages. * If the applicant is not a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, he/she must provide documents confirming legal residence in the country (valid residence permit/valid temporary residence visa), which must be valid for at least 3 months after return and at least 6 months before the planned trip. 3. One colour photo - on a white or light background, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, no corners or ovals, no more than 6 months old. The face must make up 80 per cent of the photo. 4. Health insurance valid for the entire duration of the trip within the Schengen area (minimum insurance period 15 days). The amount of cover must be at least 30,000 euros and must cover the cost of emergency medical treatment. 5. Plane/train/bus tickets (for all applicants round-trip) with 100% payment or car documents (copy of registration certificate, copy of driving licence, free-form itinerary and dates, technical inspection). Hotel bookings for the entire round-trip route should also be attached. If necessary (if the applicant is not the owner) - a notarised power of attorney to drive the car. If the owner is travelling together with the applicant, a copy of the car owner's visa and a copy of the passport. If a minor child is travelling for this purpose: In all cases, a copy of the birth certificate and full proof of relationship to the legal representative(s) (e.g. marriage certificate, court judgment or other documents) must be provided for minors and underage persons, and a separate set of documents for visa applications, even if the children are registered on the passport of one of the parents! The presence, signature or consent of the other parent/legal representative is NOT required in order to apply for a visa and to receive a completed visa if the parent is deprived of parental rights; the parent is deceased; the name of a close relative or a person who is not the legal representative is entered in the birth certificate under "father"; the other legal representative is declared incapacitated; the other legal representative is declared missing (absent); the birth certificate is entered under "father"; if the other legal representative has been declared incapacitated; if the other legal representative has been deprived of parental rights; if the other legal representative is wanted; if the other legal representative has been declared missing (absent); if the name of a close relative or a person who is not the legal representative is written in the birth certificate under "father". IMPORTANT: Minors or persons under guardianship - the visa application form must be signed by both legal representatives (full names and signatures of both parents are mandatory) or by one of the legal representatives, if he/she has a NOTARIZED CONTRACT from the other parent with the obligatory text "FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF VISAS AT THE VISA CENTRE/EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA IN THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS" (original + photocopy). If the child is travelling with an accompanying person and without parents, a travel consent from both parents must also be provided (the consent must state that it is valid in all Schengen countries and must also include the correct details of the accompanying persons). The presence of a child is not required when enrolling a child under the age of 12. Children aged 12 and over must be present at each enrolment to provide biometric data. A child aged 14 to 18 must also sign the form. NOTE! During the application procedure, the Consular Section may request additional documents and/or invite applicants who have been refused a visa for an interview and notify them of the refusal by means of an official letter. Applicants may exercise their right to appeal in accordance with the national legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria. In case of refusal, the visa fee is non-refundable. The applicant may also decide to reapply for a visa, particularly if the reasons for refusal have been removed. The visa application will not be processed until the consular fee has been paid.

Certificate from the place of work for 3 months on a letterhead with the organisation's seal, indicating the applicant's address, work telephone number, position, and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract with the signature of the responsible person (the certificate is valid for 1 month). - For individual entrepreneurs - a copy of the certificate of registration of an individual entrepreneur, a certificate of registration of a taxpayer identification number and a tax return for the last 3 months. - Pensioners must provide a copy of their pension certificate and a certificate stating the amount of the pension received. - Pupils and students must also enclose a certificate from the educational institution or a pupil/student card stating that they are currently a pupil or student. - For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the last tax paid; - For unemployed and other persons: a copy of the pages of the employment record book for the last 3 years with personal data. touristPrivate visit (family members and close relatives of citizens of the Republic of Belarus residing in Bulgaria on the basis of residence permit)
Close relatives - spouses, children (including adoptive parents), parents (including guardians and trustees), grandparents, grandchildren of Belarusians legally residing on the territory of Bulgaria ("Residence Permit") are exempt from paying the visa fee only upon submission of a proof of kinship (marriage/birth certificate and other documents issued by the civil registry office), as well as copies of the residence permit of a close relative (Card for Permanently/Permanently Suspended) and a copy of the first pages of the foreign passport for which the residence permit was issued. 1. Invitation from a Bulgarian or foreign natural person in the form of a "Pokana Declaration", certified by a notary and the competent administrative control bodies for foreigners of the "Migration" Department of the Police Service of the Republic of Bulgaria (original and photocopy); The Pokana Declaration is valid for 6 months from the date of certification by the relevant authorities. 2. Certificate from the place of work for 3 months on a letterhead with the organisation's seal, indicating the applicant's address, work telephone number, position, and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract with the signature of the responsible person (the certificate is valid for 1 month). - For individual entrepreneurs โ a copy of the certificate of registration of an individual entrepreneur, a certificate of registration of a taxpayer identification number and a tax return for the last 3 months. - For pensioners, a copy of the pension certificate and a certificate of pension amount are required. - Pupils and students must also enclose a certificate from the educational institution or a pupil/student card stating that they are currently a pupil or student. - For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the last tax paid; - For unemployed and other persons: a copy of the pages of the employment record book for the last 3 years with personal data. The exception is when the inviting person is a close relative (spouse, children, parents). Note: The validity of the visa requested will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Article 24(2) of the Visa Code.

A copy of the contract for the provision of tourist services between the applicant and the Belarusian tour operator holding a licence to conduct outbound tourism (Appendix 1 to the contract "For the provision of tourist services" - Tour programme). Confirmation of 100% payment from the Bulgarian side on official letterhead with stamp and signature. Certificate from the place of work for 3 months on a letterhead with the organisation's seal, indicating the applicant's address, work telephone number, position and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract with the signature of the responsible person (the certificate is valid for 1 month). - For individual entrepreneurs - a copy of the certificate of registration of the individual entrepreneur, the certificate of registration of the taxpayer identification number and the tax return for the last 3 months. - Pensioners must provide a copy of their pension certificate and a certificate stating the amount of the pension received. - Pupils and students must also enclose a certificate from the educational institution or a pupil/student card stating that they are currently a pupil or student. - For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the last tax paid; - For unemployed and other persons: a copy of the pages of the employment record book for the last 3 years with personal data. Proof of sufficient funds for travel If the "Tour Programme" does not include meals, it is necessary to provide proof of sufficient funds for the trip (a recent bank statement showing the movement of funds for 3 months) at the rate of 50 euros per day of stay per person (but not less than 500 euros for the entire duration of the trip). Note: The validity of the visa requested will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Article 24(2) of the Visa Code.
touristPrivate visit (family members of Bulgarian or EU citizens)
Family members of Bulgarian citizens: spouses, unmarried children up to 21 years of age or up to 26 years of age studying full-time at a higher education institution (certificate from the educational institution is obligatory!); parents of Bulgarian/EU citizens; parents of elderly (pensioner) age; medically dependent parents (group 1 disabled). - An invitation from a Bulgarian or foreign natural person in the form of a "Pokana Declaration", certified by a notary public and the competent authorities of the Administrative Control of Aliens of the Migration Department of the Police Service of the Republic of Bulgaria (original and photocopy); - The Pokana Declaration is valid for 6 months from the date of certification by the relevant authorities. OR - (Only if a citizen of Bulgaria is permanently residing on the territory of Belarus based on a temporary residence permit (temporary registration) or a residence permit) - statement certified by the consular authority. - For the invited person, the following information is indicated: name, surname, date of birth, gender, citizenship, number of the identity document, the period and purpose of the trip, and that the inviting party bears the costs of maintenance and accommodation, the address of the provided place of residence, the names of minor children traveling with the invited person. - Proof of relationship (marriage/birth certificate and other documents issued by the registry office). Spouses of Bulgarian citizens are exempt from consular fees only if they have a Bulgarian marriage certificate! - A copy of the identity card/passport of a Bulgarian citizen or a document confirming the relationship or a copy of the document confirming the citizenship of the European Union, the European Economic Area/Switzerland. Note: The validity of the visa requested will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with Article 24(2) of the Visa Code.

Note: The period of validity of the requested visa will be determined on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the Visa Code, Art. 24, paragraph 2.
medicalMedical treatment
Travel insurance is compulsory for all Schengen countries. If you don't already have one, click here (#). 1. Confirmation from a medical institution with a specific treatment and rehabilitation plan, including an epicrisis of the disease from a local hospital in Bulgaria and availability of sufficient financial means to pay for the treatment in Bulgaria, as well as supporting documents on the history of the disease from a Belarusian medical institution. If the applicant needs to be accompanied by an escort, this must be stated on the official document issued by the medical institution. 2. Certificate from the place of work for 3 months on company letterhead with the organisation's seal, indicating the address, work telephone number, position, and salary of the applicant, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract, with the signature of the responsible person (the certificate is valid for 1 month). - For individual entrepreneurs - a copy of the IE registration certificate, the UNP registration certificate and a tax return for the last 3 months. - Pensioners must submit a copy of the pension certificate and a certificate of the amount of the pension received. -Pupils and students should also enclose a certificate from an educational institution or a pupil/student card stating that he/she is currently a pupil or student. - For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the last tax paid; - For unemployed and other persons: a copy of the pages of the work book for the last 3 years with personal data. From the inviting organisation: A written statement from the inviting organisation on company letterhead that they will cover all expenses incurred in the Schengen area and can provide accommodation and food for the duration of the trip (with a specific residential address - hotel or if the host provides accommodation elsewhere, the exact address of the accommodation must be stated in writing on company letterhead with the signature and seal of the organisation/company. 3.2. From the Belarusian employer: a letter of guarantee from the Belarusian employer in Russian language on payment of all expenses during the stay in the Schengen area, confirming the business trip and that all financial expenses related to the business trip will be covered by the employer (with a specific accommodation address - hotel, private apartment, etc.). 3.3. From the applicant: - to cover daily expenses (a recent bank statement with movements for the last 3 months in the original or a receipt for the purchase of currency, etc.) at the rate of 50 euros per day of stay per person or the equivalent in another freely convertible currency (but not less than 500 euros for the entire duration of the trip). - To cover the cost of accommodation, confirmation of payment for the hotel by the applicant (a facsimile/scanned copy on letterhead with signature and stamp, or a printed reservation from the electronic booking system and proof of payment where payment for a particular hotel is tracked). The proof of payment document must list all departing persons by name, length of stay and hotel details. To apply for a multiple-entry visa for a business trip of more than 1 year, a letter on the letterhead of a Bulgarian legal entity is also required, confirming the existence of permanent business contacts and joint business activities with a company from the Republic of Belarus in connection with upcoming trips to the Republic of Bulgaria (a joint venture agreement may be provided). A letter of invitation from the Bulgarian host on the official letterhead of the organisation, stating the personal data of the invited person, the place where the documents are to be submitted (e.g. Minsk), the dates and purpose of the visit, the list of participants with the seal and signature of the responsible person and the obligatory guarantees: Guarantees that the persons applying for an entry Schengen visa (civil servants; members of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews; telegraph and postal employees, as well as freight forwarders accompanying goods on international trips; drivers and crew members of vehicles accompanying humanitarian aid cargoes, journalists, etc.)) for Bulgaria, according to the official invitation from the Bulgarian side. Explanation: ะ) Members of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews, postal employees and freight forwarders accompanying goods on international trains passing through the territory of Bulgaria are issued visas on the basis of nominal lists and itinerary sheets. B) Drivers and crew members of vehicles transporting passengers and goods by road between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Bulgaria or through the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria must present professional driving licences of national and international standards and their photocopies. The letter of invitation must confirm that the costs of the stay will be covered or that there is no such obligation: - If the host party is covering the costs, proof of sponsorship by the inviting party or a letter of sponsorship from the sending organisation or other proof of financial solvency is required, as well as proof of 100% payment for the hotel from the Bulgarian side on official letterhead with stamp and signature. - If the host party does not provide accommodation (this must be stated in the invitation letter), it is also necessary to attach documents confirming accommodation and confirmation of 100% payment for the hotel by the Belarusian side on official letterhead with seal and signature. The invitation letter is only valid for a specific trip. Submit a request on the official letterhead of the Belarusian organisation, stating the details of the person invited, the date and purpose of the visit, a list of participants with the seal and signature of the person responsible. The letter of invitation must state whether the cost of the stay will be covered. 2. Certificate from the place of work for 3 months on a letterhead with the organisation's seal, indicating the applicant's address, work telephone number, position, and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract with the signature of the responsible person (the certificate is valid for 1 month). 3. A letter of invitation from the Bulgarian host party (Ministry of Culture/Sport/Education, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, educational institutions, local mayor's offices, sports clubs, associations, etc.) on the official letterhead of the organisation, stating the data of the invited person, where the documents are to be submitted (e.g. Minsk), the dates and purpose of the visit, the list of participants with the seal and signature of the responsible person and the mandatory guarantees: ะ) guarantees that the visa applicants will participate in the event and apply for a Schengen entry visa to travel to Bulgaria in accordance with the official invitation from the Bulgarian side; B) guarantees that the list of persons applying for visas has been officially approved by the sending Party and does not include persons residing in Bulgaria for purposes other than direct participation in the event. The letter of invitation must confirm that the costs of the stay will be covered or that there is no such obligation: - If the host is paying for the stay, proof of sponsorship from the inviting party or a letter of sponsorship from the sending organisation or other proof of financial solvency is required, as well as proof of 100% payment for the hotel from the Bulgarian side on official letterhead with stamp and signature. (There are 3 categories): - "Cultural Exchange: A letter of invitation from the Ministry of Culture or the head of the municipality concerned. Programme of a guest performance or tour (number of performances with dates and venues). A list of all participants and their roles (e.g. orchestra member, dancer, lighting designer, etc.). - "Research or Teaching": A letter of invitation from the Ministry of Education or a relevant educational institution. - "Sporting Event": A letter of invitation from the Ministry of Sport or the relevant sports club. A list of all participants with information about the function of each participant (e.g., athlete, coach, doctor, etc.). The invitation letter is only valid for a specific trip. Submit a request on the official letterhead of the Belarusian organisation stating the details of the invited person, the date and purpose of the visit, a list of participants with the seal and signature of the responsible person. The letter of invitation must state whether the cost of the stay will be covered. 2. Certificate from the place of work for 3 months on a letterhead with the organisation's seal, indicating the applicant's address, work telephone number, position and salary, indicating the start and end dates of the employment contract with the signature of the responsible person (the certificate is valid for 1 month). - For individual entrepreneurs - a copy of the certificate of registration of the individual entrepreneur, the certificate of registration of the taxpayer identification number and the tax return for the last 3 months. - Pensioners must provide a copy of their pension certificate and a certificate stating the amount of the pension received. - Pupils and students must also enclose a certificate from the educational institution or a pupil/student card stating that they are currently a pupil or student. - For freelancers and artisans: a certificate of the last tax paid; - For unemployed and other persons: a copy of the pages of the employment record book for the last 3 years with personal data. Documents proving the applicant's ties with the Republic of Belarus (e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificates of the applicant, his children living in Belarus), documents proving the financial/economic situation in Belarus (e.g. bank statement for the last three months, spouse's income certificate). 3. Proof of sufficient funds for travel If the "Tour Programme" does not include meals, it is necessary to provide proof of sufficient funds for the trip (a recent bank statement showing the movement of funds for 3 months) at the rate of 50 euros per day of stay per person (but not less than 500 euros for the entire duration of the trip). Governed by the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act (Article 15). The visa is issued for up to 6 months (180 days) and allows the holder to enter Bulgaria and subsequently apply for a residence permit at the Migration Directorate (MVR). A personal interview is obligatory. The employer must first obtain a work permit from the Bulgarian National Employment Agency. EU Blue Card holders follow a slightly different procedure. After obtaining a Type D visa and entering Bulgaria, the applicant must apply for a temporary residence permit within the first month. No e-visa option exists; applications must be submitted in person.

Permits non-EU nationals who have made qualifying investments in Bulgaria (such as EUR 512,000 in approved investment funds) to enter Bulgaria. Leads directly to permanent residency without requiring a temporary permit.
Governed by Article 25, paragraph 1, point 6 of the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act. Requires a minimum investment of EUR 512,000 in Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) or ETFs listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, maintained for at least 5 years. The Invest Bulgaria Agency (investbulgaria.com) must pre-approve the investment. After approval, a Type D visa is issued to allow entry, following which permanent residency is granted directly. After 5 years of permanent residency, the investor may apply for Bulgarian citizenship by naturalization. Bulgaria's Citizenship-by-Investment (golden passport) program was abolished on 5 April 2022; this path leads to residency only, not direct citizenship.

Permits third-country nationals employed in highly qualified occupations (requiring at least a bachelor's degree and a gross annual salary at least 1.5x the average Bulgarian salary) to enter Bulgaria under the EU Blue Card scheme.
Implements Directive 2009/50/EC (EU Blue Card Directive) and its successor Directive (EU) 2021/1883 as transposed into Bulgarian law. The employer must apply for an EU Blue Card (combined work and residence permit) from the Migration Directorate on behalf of the foreign national. A Type D entry visa is issued to allow initial entry. Blue Card holders have enhanced mobility rights within the EU/Schengen Area after 18 months.

Permits third-country nationals who work remotely for employers or businesses registered outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland to reside in Bulgaria for up to 2 years without taking up local employment.
Introduced by amendments to the Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria Act, approved by the Bulgarian Parliament in June 2025. Implementing regulations adopted by the Council of Ministers on 10 December 2025; applications accepted from 20 December 2025. Three eligible categories: (1) employees of companies registered outside EU/EEA/Switzerland; (2) entrepreneurs/managers owning 25%+ of a company registered abroad; (3) self-employed remote workers with at least 1 year of prior remote operation. Minimum average annual income of EUR 31,000 for the prior calendar year. The initial permit is valid for 1 year, extendable once for a further year (maximum 2 years total). Holders may not work for Bulgarian companies or Bulgarian clients. Administered by the Ministry of Interior (MVR). Entry is via a Type D long-stay visa; the permit is then issued inside Bulgaria. Processing time is not officially published.

Permits non-EU nationals to perform seasonal work in Bulgaria in the tourism/hospitality (HORECA) and agriculture sectors, tied to the seasonal cycle.
Bulgaria's implementation of the EU Seasonal Workers Directive 2014/36/EU. Two pathways: (1) seasonal work up to 90 days uses a short-stay Type C visa registered for seasonal work, with no separate work permit; (2) seasonal work from 90 days up to 9 months requires a work permit issued by the Bulgarian Employment Agency plus a Type D visa and a subsequent residence permit. Limited to HORECA (tourism) and agriculture sectors. The employer must obtain Employment Agency approval before the worker's arrival and provide adequate accommodation. Workers may change employer with Employment Agency permission without leaving Bulgaria. Maximum stay is 9 months in any 12-month period.

Permits managers, specialists, or trainee employees of a multinational group to be transferred from a company branch outside the EU to a host entity in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria's implementation of the EU Intra-Corporate Transfer Directive 2014/66/EU. For managers, specialists and trainees transferred within the same group of undertakings from a non-EU branch to a Bulgarian host entity. Requires prior employment with the group of at least 12 months (managers and specialists) or 6 months (trainees). Entry is via a Type D long-stay visa; the ICT permit is then issued. The holder may work only for the specified receiving enterprise(s) in the manager/specialist/trainee role. Maximum transfer duration is up to 3 years for managers and specialists and up to 1 year for trainees; intra-EU mobility to other member states is possible under conditions. Administered together with the Bulgarian Employment Agency and the Migration Directorate (MVR).
