Type C - Short-term Student/Study Visa

Short-term entry for study, educational internships, or participation in cultural and scientific programs.

Type C category for study/educational purposes. Requires invitation or confirmation from educational institution. For on-arrival at Minsk National Airport, an institutional representative must be present. For long-term study (over 90 days), a Type D long-term visa is required.

Type C - Short-term Private/Humanitarian/Religious/Press Visa

Short-term entry for private visits, humanitarian activities, religious ties, or journalism purposes.

Sub-category of Type C short-term visa for private, humanitarian, religious, and press purposes. Supporting documents vary by sub-purpose. Fee EUR 60 standard (EUR 35 for EU). Expedited 2-working-day processing available at double fee.

Type D - Long-term Employment/Work Visa

Long-term visa for foreign nationals intending to work in Belarus under an employment contract with a Belarusian employer.

Employment is one of the purposes explicitly covered under the Type D long-term visa. Requires employment contract or work permit documentation. Type D - Long-term Student Visa

Long-term visa for foreign nationals enrolled in accredited Belarusian educational institutions for programs exceeding 90 days.

Educational purposes fall under the cultural/scientific/educational sub-category of Type D. Requires official enrollment confirmation from a Belarusian institution. After entry, foreign students must register with migration authorities if staying beyond 10 working days.

Type C - Short-term Employment (Work) Visa

Short-term entry to take up employment in Belarus under a special employment permit, for engagements not exceeding 90 days.

Employment is a purpose available under the Type C short-term visa. The visa support document is a notarised copy of a special employment permit issued by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department, or an original application from a commercial organization with foreign investment. For employment exceeding 90 days a Type D long-term employment visa is required. Fee EUR 60 standard (EUR 35 for EU citizens under the facilitation agreement).

Type C - Short-term Medical Treatment Visa

Short-term entry for medical treatment or health improvement (sanatorium/rehabilitation) at a Belarusian healthcare institution, including for an accompanying attendant.

Requires a letter of visa support from a Belarusian healthcare institution or a contract for medical services with a Belarusian healthcare institution (also covers a foreign attendant accompanying the patient). A short-term visa issued on the application of a treatment center or health-improvement (sanatorium) organization is limited to a maximum of 30 days; longer courses of treatment use a standard Type C (up to 90 days) or a Type D long-term visa. Compulsory medical insurance with minimum EUR 10,000 coverage required. Fee EUR 60 standard (EUR 35 for EU citizens).

Type C - Short-term Private Visit (Family/Relatives) Visa

Short-term entry to visit close relatives or family members who are citizens or residents of Belarus, or for other private purposes.

For a private visit to family/relatives the visa support document is a document proving family ties or marital relations with a citizen of the Republic of Belarus (birth certificate, marriage certificate, or certificate of name change), or an invitation approved by the Citizenship and Migration Department. Other private-purpose grounds accepted include property ownership in Belarus, serious illness or death of a relative, or a court summons. Fee EUR 60 standard (EUR 35 for EU citizens). For extended family reunification a Type D long-term visa is issued.

Type D - Long-term Permanent Residence Visa

Long-term entry visa for foreign nationals approved for permanent residence in Belarus (e.g. family reunification, ethnic Belarusians, or approved investors) to enter and obtain their residence permit.

'Permanent residence' is an official Type D long-term visa purpose. The visa support document is a decision of the regional branch of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Grounds for permanent residence include family reunification with Belarusian citizens/residents, ethnic Belarusian origin, and investment (the residence-by-investment threshold is tracked separately under this country's RBI record). Max stay 90 days per visit; validity up to 5 years, multiple-entry. Applied for at a Belarusian diplomatic mission; not available online or on arrival.
