Artists, performers and athletes coming to Brazil under contract for paid activity over 90 days

• For professional artists (musicians, performers, fashion models and their crew) and athletes coming to Brazil under contract to carry out paid artistic or sporting activity for more than 90 days.
• The Brazilian contractor must first obtain temporary-residence authorisation from the Ministry of Justice before the visa is issued at a consulate (exception: amateur athletes aged 14-18).

• Temporary-residence visa for investors.

Volunteers/social workers engaged in unpaid community, non-profit, NGO or religious-institution work in Brazil for more than 90 days

• For volunteers and social workers engaged in community work for a non-profit or non-governmental organization, or in service to a religious institution, without any employment contract or remuneration, for more than 90 days.
• Requires an invitation letter from the Brazilian host organization, its bylaws, and affidavits covering the volunteer's maintenance and medical expenses.

Temporary residence for nationals of Mercosur and associated states under the Mercosur Residence Agreement

• Available to citizens of Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay seeking temporary residency in Brazil under the Mercosur Residence Agreement; grants a 2-year stay.
• Eligible nationals may alternatively enter Brazil (most are already visa-free for short stays under the general visa regime) and apply for temporary residence directly at the Federal Police Department rather than pre-obtaining this visa abroad.
