Student Visa / Student Residence Permit (Carte de Séjour Étudiant)

Foreign students and researchers enrolled at a Congolese educational or research institution.

No separate student entry visa is issued abroad. Per the official Congolese embassy (ambacongo-us.org), students on exchange programs and researchers enter on a tourist visa and then change their status at the nearest Office of Immigration in Congo, obtaining an ordinary resident's card (carte de séjour) on the basis of a school/university enrollment certificate. Family Reunion Visa / Spouse Residence (Regroupement Familial)

Family members joining relatives resident in the Republic of the Congo, and foreign spouses of Congolese nationals.

For family reunification (regroupement familial), the official embassy (ambacongo-us.org) requires proof of family affiliation (birth certificate, adoption papers, or legal marriage certificate) submitted with the visa application; applicants then regularise status in-country. A foreign national married for at least 2 years to a Congolese national is automatically granted a resident's card (carte de séjour) per API-Congo (.cg). Work Visa / Foreign Worker Authorization (Autorisation de Travail pour Étranger)

Entry and authorization to work in the Republic of the Congo as a foreign employee.

Foreign worker visa fee is 100,000 FCFA (~USD 165); work card fee is 10,000 FCFA (~USD 16). Categories include national staff, subordinate agents, and foreign personnel. Temporary employment and provisional work authorizations are also available. Must be obtained through the relevant Congolese authorities.

Temporary / Provisional Work Authorization (Autorisation Provisoire de Travail)

Short-term or provisional employment authorization for foreign workers, arranged through the Congolese employment agency (ACPE).

Distinct from the standard foreign-worker contract visa. Temporary employment authorizations are obtained through the ACPE (Agence Congolaise Pour l'Emploi) application process, and provisional work authorizations are also available for foreign personnel. Long-term residence authorization for foreign nationals staying beyond the initial visa period, covering employees, students, religious ministers, professionals, and academics.

Initial visa may allow up to 15 days; extended through the Direction Départementale de la Surveillance du Territoire. Permit durations: 1 year (106,000 FCFA / ~EUR 161.60), 3 years (206,000 FCFA / ~EUR 314.04), 5 years (106,000 FCFA / ~EUR 161.60). Express Visa option available at additional cost for same-day processing. Categories include employees, students, religious ministers, initiates, professionals, and academics/researchers. Diplomatic / Service Passport Visa Exemption

Visa-free entry for holders of diplomatic, service, or special passports from countries with bilateral agreements with the Republic of the Congo.

Holders of diplomatic and service passports from Brazil, China, and Russia are exempt from visa requirements. Holders of diplomatic passports (only) from Portugal and Turkey are exempt. Chinese nationals with 'Public Affairs' passports (公务护照) are also exempt. These arrangements are based on bilateral agreements. Official / Diplomatic Visa

Holders of diplomatic or official passports, or UN Laissez-Passer, traveling to the Republic of the Congo on official government or international-organization business.

Issued to diplomatic/official passport bearers and UN Laissez-Passer holders traveling on official business. A 12-month (one-year) multiple-entry visa is granted when the application is accompanied by a diplomatic note, and diplomatic visa applications are exempt from visa fees. This is an issued visa and is distinct from the separate bilateral visa-free exemptions granted to certain nationalities' diplomatic/service passport holders.
