No separate student entry visa is issued abroad. Per the official Congolese embassy (ambacongo-us.org), students on exchange programs and researchers enter on a tourist visa and then change their status at the nearest Office of Immigration in Congo, obtaining an ordinary resident's card (carte de séjour) on the basis of a school/university enrollment certificate. For family reunification (regroupement familial), the official embassy (ambacongo-us.org) requires proof of family affiliation (birth certificate, adoption papers, or legal marriage certificate) submitted with the visa application; applicants then regularise status in-country. A foreign national married for at least 2 years to a Congolese national is automatically granted a resident's card (carte de séjour) per API-Congo (.cg).
