Study entry visa obtained from an Egyptian embassy/consulate on the basis of an official admission/enrolment letter, then converted to a Study Residence Permit (Iqama) at the Passport & Immigration Administration within 30 days of arrival. Permit is granted for the duration of study and renewed annually with an updated enrolment letter. Study in Egypt (study-in-egypt.gov.eg) is the official government admissions portal under the Ministry of Higher Education.

Work Permit (Foreign Worker)

Foreign nationals employed in Egypt, sponsored by a licensed Egyptian employer

Issued inside Egypt by the Ministry of Labour (General Administration for Work Permits for Foreigners) under Labour Law No. 14 of 2025; the employer obtains the work permit first, after which the Passport Administration grants a matching work residence permit (a two-track authorisation). Valid 1 year, renewable annually (renew at least 30 days before expiry). Government/mandatory fees roughly EGP 6,000-15,000. Foreign workers are capped at 10% of a company's workforce; an HIV/AIDS test at the Ministry of Health Central Laboratory is required.
