Requires BOTH a work permit (Giấy phép lao động) issued by the competent provincial labour authority (DOLISA, formerly under MOLISA) - employer-sponsored, needing a criminal-record check, health certificate and qualification documents - AND the LĐ2 entry visa issued by the Immigration Department. Valid up to 2 years, renewable (Article 9). Visa fee USD 145 for a 1-2 year multiple-entry visa (Circular 25/2021/TT-BTC). Holders may then obtain a temporary residence card.

Valid up to 2 years (Article 9). A work-permit-exemption confirmation must be obtained before the LĐ1 visa is issued.
