Tourism or visiting family/friends: ยท Medical treatment:
- A valid travel document which is issued within previous 10 years, contains at least two blank pages for visas and is valid at least 3 months after the expiration date of the visa;
- A filled in and signed application form. In case several persons (minors or a spouse) are covered by the same travel document, individual application forms must be filled in and signed by the persons concerned, in case of minors signed by the parental authority or the legal guardian. A minor at least 15 years old may lodge and sign a visa application personally;
- Photo (size 35x45mm);
- Insurance policy valid in Schengen countries with a coverage of at least 30.000 EUR for the entire duration of stay in Schengen area;
- The travel insurance must cover the entire Schengen area, i.e. where you have to specify countries you are travelling to, you must list all the Schengen countries or choose a region which includes the Schengen area.
- The travel insurance must have a minimum cover of at least EUR 30,000 for:
- medical treatment,
- medical repatriation, and
- repatriation of mortal remains.
- Please note that most Australian policies are invalid if they do not cover you from departure from Australia until return to Australia, i.e. departure date and arrival date in Australia must be included in the policy
- Supporting documents:
- Proof of residence;
- Proof of visa status - VEVO (Visa Entitlement Verification Online);
- Reservation of return or round ticket, including confirmation of the booking of an organised trip including a detailed itinerary;
- Proof of financial means in the country of residence (including recent bank statements showing movement of means over a certain periood (minimum last three months and 116.80โฌ for each day in Estonia);
- Proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation (such as invitation from host);
- If married or in a partnership, proovide a marriage certificate or registered partnership agreement;
- Documents indicating the purpose of journey;
- Documents in relation to accommodation or proof of sufficient means to cover your accommodation;
- A document from the establishment providing the accommodation or any other appropriate document indicating the accommodation envisaged.
- Official invitation letter from a firm, host organisation, educational establishment or an authority to attend meetings, conferences or events, containing detailed information concerning:
- Address and contacts of the inviting entity;
- Name and position of the countersigning person;
- Purpose and duration of stay;
- Person or entity who will bear the travel and living costs (if applicable);
- a certificate from a medical doctor and/or a medical institution advising that the treatment is necessary;
- an official document from the receiving medical institution confirming that it can perform the specific medical treatment, an estimation of costs and an indication that the patient will be accepted accordingly;

Travel and medical insurance
All applicants must submit a valid travel insurance. The insurance should as a main rule be taken out in your country of residence, i.e. Australia. Alternatively, you may take out a dedicated Schengen insurance.

During the examination of an application, a consular officer may request additional documents.
- proof of finances - General requirement is 70 euros per day (2100 euros per month) in Estonia or 800 euros per month for working and studying in Estonia.
- at the time of submission of the application, biometrical data - 10 fingerprints of the applicant is collected; children under the age of 12 and persons for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible shall be exempt from the requirement to give fingerprints;
