Citizenship by Investment - National Development Fund (NDF)

Grants full Antigua and Barbuda citizenship to qualifying investors who make a non-refundable contribution to the National Development Fund.

Minimum contribution US$230,000 (non-refundable) to the NDF. Additional fees: processing US$10,000 (single) or US$20,000 (family up to 4); due diligence US$8,500 (principal), US$5,000 (spouse), free (child 0-11), US$2,000 (child 12-17), US$4,000 (adult dependent 18+); passport US$300/person. Physical residency requirement: 30 days within the first 5 years. Mandatory interview required. Citizenship by Investment - Real Estate

Grants full Antigua and Barbuda citizenship to qualifying investors who purchase approved real estate at a minimum value.

Minimum real estate purchase of US$300,000 in an approved project. Property cannot be re-sold until 5 years after purchase unless an alternative approved real estate is purchased. Citizenship by Investment - Business Investment

Grants full Antigua and Barbuda citizenship to qualifying investors who invest in an approved business.

Single applicant: minimum US$1,500,000 in an approved business. Joint investment (minimum 2 persons): total US$5,000,000 with each person contributing at least US$400,000. Citizenship by Investment - UWI Fund

Grants full Antigua and Barbuda citizenship to qualifying investors who contribute to the University of the West Indies Fund, including a scholarship benefit.

Minimum US$260,000 contribution (processing fees included) for a family of 6 or more. One family member receives a one-year tuition-only scholarship at UWI. Families of 7+ incur an additional US$10,000 per additional dependent. Available only to families of 6 or more. Physical residency: 30 days within first 5 years. Mandatory interview required.

Permanent Residence Scheme (Tax Residency)

Allows high-net-worth individuals to obtain permanent residency in Antigua and Barbuda in exchange for a flat annual tax payment, targeting retirees and wealthy individuals seeking tax residency.

Introduced 1995. Standard Resident Permit (Class A)

Grants residence to a foreign national who has been lawfully and continuously resident in Antigua and Barbuda for at least 4 years, typically after holding successive uninterrupted work permits.

Class A resident permit for persons lawfully and continuously resident in Antigua and Barbuda for at least 4 years (the official Resident Permit category table lists Class A as the route for work-permit holders after 4 years). If applying via work permits, there must have been at least four consecutive uninterrupted work permits, and a valid work permit at the time of application. Marriage to a citizen is instead the separate Class B route (1 year). Resident permits are granted for 1 to 3 years at a time and the holder must reside in-country at least half of the validity period. Eligible to apply for citizenship after 7 years of lawful residence. Standard immigration residency route; not an investment program.

Nomad Digital Residence (NDR) Programme

Formerly allowed remote workers and digital nomads to legally reside in Antigua and Barbuda for up to 2 years while working for employers or clients outside the country.

DISCONTINUED effective November 15, 2025. No new applications accepted. Previously required: remote work capability, demonstrated minimum annual income of US$50,000 for each year of the 2-year stay, valid medical insurance, police clearance. Fees were US$1,500 (single), US$2,000 (couple), US$3,000 (family of 3+). Granted special-resident authorisation for up to 2 years with income tax exemption on foreign-sourced income. fee_usd reflects the historical single-applicant fee.

Work Permit

Authorises a foreign national to be employed by a specific named employer in Antigua and Barbuda. Required for virtually all non-citizens who wish to work lawfully.

Granted by the Labour Department under Section F (Work Permit Division, s.F5) of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Code; the Immigration Department then endorses the permit in the passport. Employer-driven: the prospective employer must complete the Second Schedule of the application, evidence that the post was advertised locally, and show that no qualified citizen is available. A work-permit holder remains a 'bona fide visitor' with no right of abode and cannot automatically bring dependants. As of a February 2026 Cabinet policy, approvals are centralised with a mandatory 14-day local advertising period and a stated 21-day target processing time. Fee is not published on the official application form. CARICOM Skills Certificate holders and OECS Protocol State nationals may be exempt from the work-permit requirement.

Student Residence Permit (Class C)

Allows a foreign national to reside in Antigua and Barbuda while enrolled at a tertiary or other educational institution.

Class C resident permit. Granted for one (1) year at a time (or the remaining known duration of studies) and is always temporary. Requirements: school acceptance letter, school report (after one year of attendance), proof of accommodation, a notarised sponsorship letter, a letter of financial support, passport, police certificate of character, health certificate and proof of insurance. Students are NOT permitted to work while holding this status. It cannot be converted to a Class A permanent residence permit while the purpose of stay remains study; after 4 continuous years, or on marriage to a citizen, other residence grounds may apply.

Residence Permit - Spouse of a Citizen (Class B)

Grants residence to the foreign spouse of a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda.

Class B resident permit, available after one (1) year of marriage to a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda. Requirements: marriage certificate, applicant accompanied by spouse, proof of spouse's citizenship, passport, police certificate of character, health certificate and proof of insurance. Resident permits are granted for 1 to 3 years at a time. A spouse present as a bona fide visitor still requires an extension of stay until residence is granted. Eligible to apply for citizenship after 7 years of lawful residence.

Residence Permit - Home Owner / Retired Resident (Class E)

Residence route for retirees and property owners who wish to settle in Antigua and Barbuda outside the investment-migration and flat-tax schemes.

Class E resident permit for home owners and retired residents, with a 2-year qualifying residency requirement per the official Resident Permit category table. Distinct from the Permanent Residence Scheme flat-tax programme (which requires US$100,000 minimum income and a US$20,000 annual tax) and from Citizenship by Investment. Resident permits are granted for 1 to 3 years at a time and the holder must reside in-country at least half of the validity period. Eligible to apply for citizenship after 7 years of lawful residence.
