Authorises foreign nationals to reside and work in Bahrain under a specific employer's sponsorship.

Issued by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). Requires employer sponsorship. Applicants must enter on a visit visa first in many cases, then convert to a residence permit and work permit. Golden Residency holders must still obtain a separate work permit from LMRA to legally work.

Required for accredited journalists visiting Bahrain to cover news or media events.

Advance application/accreditation is mandatory before travel. Per the official evisa.gov.bh NPRA FAQ, journalists must apply through Bahrain's media authority (the former Information Affairs Authority, now the Ministry of Information, mia.gov.bh) via its correspondent-accreditation form, not the standard eVisa portal.

Renewable self-sponsored residence permit for foreign investors holding a qualifying share in a Bahraini commercial registration.

Issued by NPRA for investors with a commercial-registration share (commonly cited minimum around BHD 100,000). Requires Commercial Registration pre-approval from the Ministry of Industry & Commerce before applying (confirmed in the official evisa.gov.bh FAQ). Issued for 2, 5 or 10 years: BHD 200 / 400 / 600 issuance respectively, plus BHD 5 application and BHD 250 transfer fee. The fee shown reflects the 2-year BHD 200 tier (approx USD 530).
