Mali issues a long-stay visa (visa de long sejour) for stays over six months, used by expatriate workers, employees, and long-term residents. The official 1-year multiple-entry entry-visa fee is USD 370 (Permanent Mission of Mali to the UN, un.int/mali). After arrival, foreign employees must obtain a residence card (carte de sejour) from the Direction Nationale de la Police and a work permit (permis de travail) from the Ministere du Travail; the employer initiates the work-permit application. The carte de sejour is valid up to one year, renewable, and costs roughly 50,000-100,000 XOF locally. There is no separately named work visa instrument - this is the general long-stay entry visa. The long-stay visa tariff applies (see un.int/mali: up to USD 370 for a 1-year multiple-entry visa); a distinct student fee is not separately published. After arrival, students obtain a residence card (carte de sejour) from the Direction Nationale de la Police. Apply online via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal.
