Tourist Visa on Arrival. Fee: USD 50. Originally launched 30 August 2023 (first one-year pilot). Extended for a second one-year pilot period from 30 August 2025 through 29 August 2026. Currently active as of June 2026. No extensions of stay permitted.

Requires a sponsorship/invitation letter from a recognized Myanmar meditation centre, monastery, or Sayadaw plus approval from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (approval can take 2-4 months); embassy processing thereafter is roughly 5-7 business days. Extendable in-country at the Immigration Department (up to 1 year per extension). Distinct from the Religious Visa, which covers missionary/clergy work.
