• Requires letter of support from Ministry of Labour, Commerce & Industries, medical report, police clearance, and character references.
• For employment of 2+ years without repatriation clause, a TOP 1,000 bond per person may be required.
• Additional documentation (employment contract, professional qualifications, employer business license) needed for long-term positions.

For students aged 18 or younger intending to attend school in Tonga at any level of education.

• Issued for up to one year, renewable.
• Requires written acceptance from educational institution, proof of tuition payment, sponsor financial support documentation, and a signed declaration from the principal of previous school.
• Processing approximately one month.

For non-Tongan passport holders seeking to retire in Tonga with a proven regular overseas pension or passive income.

• Requires proof of minimum annual income of TOP 10,000 from an overseas pension or fund.
• Valid for 2 years or more, renewable.
• Work, study, and business activities are prohibited.
• Overstay penalty: TOP 1,500.
• Requires medical report, police clearance, and two character references.

For persons with Tongan ancestry, former Tongan citizenship, or marriage to a Tongan national who wish to live in Tonga without applying for a recurring entry visa.

• Fee is USD 115 for adults (18+) and USD 54.50 for minors.
• Requires proof of connection to Tonga (birth certificate, marriage certificate, or spouse's Tongan passport).
• For minors: certified birth certificate plus parent's Tongan ancestry documentation.
