Indonesian passport holders need an approved eTA (electronic travel authorisation) before travelling to Hungary, but not a full visa.

ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) will be mandatory for all visa-exempt third-country nationals entering Schengen area including Hungary. Confirmed for Q4 2026 launch, with a 6-month transitional period (travellers meeting all other entry conditions will not be refused entry solely for lacking ETIAS during transition, extending into approximately April 2027). ETIAS is valid for 3 years or until passport expires. Fee applies. As of June 2026, ETIAS is not yet operational.
