It is crucial to note that court orders (custody letter) are no longer deemed acceptable as a substitute or exemption for the 'atto di assenso,' even in cases where parents are divorced; They must anyway come in person (Their presence remains mandatory).

With the issuance of DPCM 07 September 2020, travellers from Indonesia can now enter Italy if they have a proven and stable affective relationship (regardless of cohabitation) with Italian, EU, or Schengen citizens, or with individuals who are legally residing in Italy on a long-term basis, provided they are traveling to their partner’s home, domicile, or dwelling in Italy. In exceptional circumstances, particularly for parents whose professional duties, such as military or police service, preclude their presence in Jakarta, a localized notarization of the 'atto di assenso' may be permissible. This notarization must explicitly state that 'the document was signed in front of the notary.' Such cases will be considered on a strictly individual basis and necessitate prior approval from the Embassy.

It is crucial to note that court orders (custody letter) are no longer deemed acceptable as a substitute or exemption for the 'atto di assenso,' even in cases where parents are divorced; They must anyway come in person (Their presence remains mandatory).
