Italy Visa for Kenyan Citizens
Kenyan passport holders need an approved eTA (electronic travel authorisation) before travelling to Italy, but not a full visa.
ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) will be required for visa-exempt third-country nationals once operational. The Entry/Exit System (EES) became fully operational on 10 April 2026 across all Schengen countries, after a progressive rollout beginning 12 October 2025. ETIAS is scheduled to start operations in Q4 2026; no precise date confirmed as of June 2026. Applies to all Annex II nationals entering the Schengen area including Italy. A fee will apply; authorization covers multiple short stays within 3 years.

familyFamily Reunification
Kindly note: - Personal appearance of applicant is required - All documents must be submitted, in original as well as in a clear photocopy, at the same time of application - In case of minors, birth certificate and parents / guardian formal consent to the trip and a copy of their passport or identity card List of documents: - Application form duly completed and signed by applicant (by parents/guardian in case of minor) and phone number. - Passport (or other travel document recognized by the Italian Government ) valid for minimum three months after expiry of requested visa and containing at least 2 empty pages (back to back) and a validity not exceeding 10 years - Four recent full face color photos, passport size (45 mm x 35 mm), taken against a light background. - Previous passport in original if any - Kenyan I.D. Card. For different nationalities, Kenyan resident permit or re-entry stamp in passport valid minimum 3 months after expiry of the visa - Authorization (โNULLA OSTAโ) for family reunification issued by the competent Italian Authority (โSPORTELLO UNICO PER LโIMMIGRAZIONEโ). - Parents should proof that the family member resident in Italy is : - The only son/daughter and the only source of financial support - Parents aged 65 and over, when the other children present in the country of origin or provenance canโt take care of their needs and the family member resident in Italy is the only source of financial support - Birth, marriage and any other certificate, duly legalized, proving the real existing relationship with the family member resident in Italy - Applicants applying for Family Reunification following Marriages conducted in Kenya will be required to submit a โCertified copy of Certificate of Marriage (Form MA12)โ. - Photocopy of Resident Permit and identity card of the Sponsor in Italy - NB: SOMALI CITIZENS ONLY: - Applicable only to parents and children. Applicants have to refer to IOM (International Organization for Migration) for DNA test procedure soon after hand over of application at the VFS office. - Applicable to all Family reunification Somali applicants. Please provide one more copy of your passport (that is 2 photocopies in total) and one extra copy of the Nulla osta ( that is 2 photocopies in total) -

With a Validity of 6 months from the date of issue. - For employment visa in the field of entertainment, the Authorisation issued by the office concerned ("UFFICIO COLLOCAMENTO SPETTACOLO"). - For employment visa in the field of sports, the specific authorisation by CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) is required. - Flight booking. - In case of short term(type "C") visa, a Travel/Health Medical Insurance, valid for all Schengen Countries, for the entire period of staying and a minimum coverage of EUROS 30,000
