All visitors must apply in advance at visa.immigration.go.tz. Tanzania's own e-visa portal homepage (visa.immigration.go.tz) shows e-visa as the sole option with no mention of VoA; the guidelines page still lists both but VoA is no longer physically issued at ports. Processing time up to 10 business days. Tanzania e-visa covers both mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar - no separate Zanzibar visa required. Important note: Only passports with M or F sex marker are accepted for entry - passports with X or other gender markers will be refused entry (per US State Dept advisory, confirmed 2026).
