Visa Volant pour Visite de Famille (Family Visit Flying Visa / e-Visa)

Allows foreign nationals to visit family members residing in the DRC. Issued online via the official e-visa portal.

One of the three officially listed e-visa (visa volant) categories on the official DRC e-visa portal FAQ. Same fee structure as other e-visa types: USD 300 total + USD 90 VAP at border. VAP valid for 7 days.

Visa de Travail (Work Visa / Temporary Work Authorization)

Authorises foreign nationals to enter the DRC for employment purposes. Initial temporary work authorisation is limited to 6 consecutive months.

After the initial temporary work visa period (up to 6 months), the foreign worker may qualify for an Establishment Visa (Visa d'Établissement) with a minimum 1-year validity. Facilitation for initial investments over USD 200,000 is available via ANAPI (National Agency for Investment Promotion). Specific fee not published on official sources consulted.

Visa d'Établissement - Régulier (Regular Establishment Visa)

Long-stay residence visa for foreign nationals wishing to settle in the DRC without a specific professional or matrimonial basis.

One of five subtypes of the Establishment Visa (Visa d'Établissement): Regular, Professional, Studies, Matrimonial, and Permanent. Minimum validity of 1 year. Grants resident status and authorises activities under conditions set by law.

Visa d'Établissement - Professionnel (Professional Establishment Visa)

Long-stay residence visa for foreign nationals establishing themselves in the DRC for professional or economic activities.

Professional subtype of the Establishment Visa. Typically follows an initial temporary work visa (up to 6 months). Authorises professional or economic activities.

Visa d'Établissement - Études (Studies Establishment Visa)

Long-stay residence visa for foreign nationals pursuing academic studies in the DRC.

Visa d'Établissement - Matrimonial (Matrimonial Establishment Visa)

Visa d'Établissement - Permanent (Permanent Establishment Visa)

Permanent residence authorisation for foreign nationals who have met the requirements for long-term settlement in the DRC.

Visa Diplomatique / de Service (Diplomatic and Service Visa)

Visa-free entry for holders of diplomatic, service, and United Nations travel documents, in accordance with bilateral agreements and international protocols.

Per DRC Embassy Paris: special passports such as Diplomatic, Service, and United Nations travel documents are issued visas free of charge. Russia-DRC bilateral agreement (signed 27 July 2023) grants 90-day visa-free stay for diplomatic and service passport holders of both countries. Wikipedia also confirms diplomatic/official passport exemptions for Angola (on duty), Iran, South Africa, Turkey, and UAE (diplomatic only). Similar bilateral agreements exist with other states. DRC embassies issue diplomatic visas under diplomatic conventions.

Visa de Courtoisie (Courtesy Visa)

Short-stay courtesy visa issued by DRC embassies and consulates to invited guests and visitors on non-commercial courtesy visits. Not valid for any professional or remunerated activity in the DRC.

Confirmed as a distinct DRC visa category by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (France Diplomatie). Explicitly NOT intended for professional activities in the DRC, even short-term: travellers who will carry out any professional activity are advised to refuse a courtesy visa and instead obtain an ordinary visa with a mission letter (stays up to one week) or a work establishment visa (Visa d'Etablissement de Travail, stays over one week). Fee and stay duration are not published on an official DRC source; issued at embassy discretion. Processing typically at least one week.

Visa pour Titre de Voyage de Refugie (Refugee Travel Document Visa)

Entry visa for holders of a refugee travel document (rather than an ordinary national passport) travelling to the DRC for short stays, for tourism, business or family purposes.

Distinct visa product with its own fee schedule published on the official DRC Embassy Paris consular page for holders of refugee travel documents. Single entry: EUR 108 (1 month) / EUR 140 (2 months) / EUR 195 (3 months) / EUR 260 (6 months). Multiple entry: EUR 125 / EUR 160 / EUR 240 / EUR 340 respectively. Express processing surcharge +EUR 50. Validity up to 6 months, renewable within the DRC for a longer duration.
