Allows US citizens and nationals of Palau and the Marshall Islands to stay in FSM for extended periods, with entry permits valid for the duration of the visit up to one year at a time.

• US citizens have an unlimited right to live, work, and study in FSM under the Compact of Free Association (Section 142(a)); entry permits are renewable with no statutory cap on total stay.

• Short business visits of 30 days or less need no permit under the general visitor regime.

General-purpose entry permit for any lawful purpose not covered by a more specific permit category, including performance of necessary services on a short-term contractual basis. Duration is set to reflect the time necessary to accomplish the stated purpose, rather than a fixed cap.

Foreign nationals investing in or operating a business in FSM; tied to an underlying Foreign Investment Permit (foreign investor's business permit).
