São Tomé and Príncipe passport holders can get a visa on arrival for Maldives (up to 30 days), so no visa is needed before travelling.

Tourist visa granted on arrival free of charge to all nationalities. No pre-approval required. Effective 15 April 2025, entry is not granted on Israeli passports (Third Amendment to Immigration Act 1/2007, ratified by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on 15 April 2025). Entry requirements: passport with MRZ and minimum 1 month validity, confirmed return ticket within 30 days of arrival, prepaid accommodation at a registered facility or proof of sufficient funds (minimum USD 100 plus USD 50/day), completed IMUGA Traveller Declaration (within 96 hours before arrival). Yellow Fever vaccination certificate required if coming from endemic countries (children under 1 year exempt). Entry at port of entry subject to admissibility determination by Immigration officers (Immigration Act ss. 7 & 8). Max stay of 30 days confirmed by Maldives High Commission London official page (re-verified 2026-06-29). Extendable up to 60 additional days (total 90 days) in-country by applying to Maldives Immigration before expiry. Extension process was streamlined by Maldives Immigration effective April 23, 2026 under the Maldives 2.0 Initiative.
