Grenada Work Permit

Required for all non-nationals (excluding CARICOM Protocol free-movement beneficiaries) who wish to take up employment with a Grenadian employer. Applied for by the employer on behalf of the prospective employee.

Fee structure varies by nationality: CARICOM nationals (Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Cuba) XCD 1,000 (approx. Grenada Remote Employment Permit

Allows non-nationals earning at least EC$100,000 per year (approx. USD 37,000) from employment or business activities outside Grenada to reside in Grenada while working remotely. Holders may not work for or offer services to any person or business within Grenada.

Established under the Remote Employment Act, Act No. 3 of 2021. Application fee: USD 1,500 (individual); USD 2,000 (individual + up to 3 dependants); USD 200 per additional dependant beyond 3. Annual renewal fee: USD 1,400 (individual); USD 1,900 (individual + up to 3 dependants). Permit holders are exempt from Grenada income tax on income earned outside Grenada. Conditional duty exemptions apply to household effects (up to EC$75,000 c.i.f.) and one motor vehicle. Dependants cannot enrol in public educational institutions. Permit holders are deemed non-residents for citizenship and voting purposes. Not available to OECS Protocol Member State citizens (who have free movement rights). Minimum income threshold: EC$100,000/year (approx. USD 37,000). Renewable annually.

Grenada Citizenship by Investment - National Transformation Fund

Grants Grenadian citizenship through a non-refundable financial contribution to the National Transformation Fund (NTF), which finances projects in tourism, agriculture, and alternative energy. No prior residency in Grenada is required.

Minimum contribution USD 235,000 (effective July 1, 2024 per SR&O 15 of 2024 / Caribbean MOA price standardization). Note: the cbi.gov.gd homepage still displayed USD 150,000 (old figure) as of June 2026 - the website has not been updated. Established under the Citizenship by Investment Act No. 15 of 2013. All applications must be submitted through an Authorised Agent to the Citizenship by Investment Committee (CBIC). Processing time: approximately 3–4 months. Citizenship can be extended to spouse, dependent children under 18, dependent parents, and dependent grandchildren. Applicants must be at least 18, have no criminal record, and be in good health. No residency required before or after citizenship. Key benefit: Grenada citizenship provides E-2 Treaty Investor Visa eligibility for the United States, and visa-free/on-arrival access to 140+ countries including UK, Schengen Area, China, Singapore.

Grenada Citizenship by Investment - Approved Real Estate

Grants Grenadian citizenship through investment in a government-approved real estate project. The applicant must hold the qualifying real estate for at least 5 years after citizenship is granted.

Minimum investment USD 270,000 (effective July 1, 2024 per SR&O 15 of 2024 / Caribbean MOA price standardization). Some approved projects may have different minimums (e.g., USD 220,000 for shared/fractional units vs. USD 350,000 for sole-ownership units). Applicant must hold the real estate for at least 5 years following the grant of citizenship. Approved projects include luxury hotels, resorts, and villas listed on the official CBI website. All applications through Authorised Agents. Processing time: approximately 3–4 months. Same eligibility and family extension rules as NTF route apply.

Grenada Diplomatic/Official Visa

Issued to diplomatic and government officials traveling to Grenada on official business. Separate application track available at Grenada Embassies and Missions.

The Embassy of Grenada USA references a separate 'Instructions for Diplomats/Government Officials' document and a separate application pathway. Many diplomatic/official/service passport holders from countries that ordinarily require visas receive more favourable treatment (e.g., extended stay durations or visa exemptions). Grenadian Citizenship by Registration (Spouse of a Grenadian Citizen)

Allows a foreign national legally married to a citizen of Grenada to apply to be registered as a citizen of Grenada. Administered by the Ministry of Home Affairs / Immigration and Passport Department.

Citizenship-by-registration route (not a temporary visa). The official 'Application - Married to a Grenadian' form is published on the Government of Grenada Home Affairs portal. Requires marriage certificate, proof of the spouse's Grenadian citizenship, police certificate of character, and supporting documents; foreign-language documents must be translated into English. Grenadian Citizenship by Naturalisation
