Official Visa

Temporary Residence Permit by Investment (IPIM)

Allows non-local individuals holding major investments beneficial to the Macao SAR - major investors, fixed-deposit/real-estate investors, and management or technical personnel with special qualifications - to obtain a Macau temporary residence permit, renewable and leading to eligibility for permanent residence after 7 years.

Administered by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM, https://www.ipim.gov.mo). Three application pathways: (1) major investment beneficial to the Macao SAR under assessment/approved; (2) management or technical personnel with special qualifications; (3) fixed-deposit or local real-estate investment. Covers family dependents (spouse, children, parents) who must maintain the principal applicant's qualifying legal status. After 7 continuous years of temporary residence the holder may request a Confirmation Declaration toward permanent residence (not granted automatically).
