Under Article 27 of Ley N°21.325 de Migración y Extranjería, nationals of countries NOT enumerated in DS 359 enter Chile visa-free as holders of 'Permiso de Permanencia Transitoria' for up to 90 days (extendable once for 90 days). The decree published 17 Sep 2025 lists 104 nationalities that DO require prior authorization. All others are implicitly visa-free. Exceptions exist for holders of agreements/treaties per Article 2 of DS 359. Visitors must demonstrate a minimum of USD 46/day of funds for the duration of their stay (Resolución Exenta Nº 3.464 de 2023).

Standard grant is up to 2 years, extendable for two successive 2-year periods. Job-offer pathway grants initial 90 days then 1-year extension upon presenting employment contract within 45 days of entry. Application must be submitted from outside Chile via SERMIG digital portal. Permits foreign nationals to reside in Chile for seasonal employment directly related to the employer's main line of business.
Permit valid for up to 5 years (extendable for 2 more years) but actual stay limited to no more than 6 months per calendar year. Requires employment contract signed before a Chilean notary. Applicants have 45 days after entry to present employment contract. Nationals of bilateral-agreement countries may apply with a formal job offer instead.
