For family reunification (regroupement familial), the official embassy (ambacongo-us.org) requires proof of family affiliation (birth certificate, adoption papers, or legal marriage certificate) submitted with the visa application; applicants then regularise status in-country. A foreign national married for at least 2 years to a Congolese national is automatically granted a resident's card (carte de séjour) per API-Congo (.cg).
