e-Visa (Study and Training - Short Stay)

Fee is USD 20 + 2% service fee. Explicitly for study/training durations under 90 days only. For longer-term study, a separate long-stay national visa (D3 Study Visa) is required, obtained through a Georgian embassy/consulate abroad. Processing is 'not less than 5 working days'. Requires supporting documentation from educational institution.

e-Visa (Health and Medical Care)

Short-stay visits to Georgia for medical treatment, health consultations, or recuperation at Georgian medical facilities.

Fee is USD 20 + 2% service fee. Processing is 'not less than 5 working days'. Requires proof of medical appointment or treatment documentation in Georgia. Duration and validity may vary by nationality.

e-Visa (Religion/Pilgrimages)

Short-stay visits to Georgia for religious purposes, pilgrimages, or participation in religious events and ceremonies.

Fee is USD 20 + 2% service fee. Georgia has significant Orthodox Christian religious sites making it a destination for pilgrimages. Processing is 'not less than 5 working days'. Requires supporting documentation related to religious purpose.

Remotely from Georgia Program

Allows remote workers, freelancers, and employees of foreign companies to live and work remotely from Georgia for up to 360 days.

Launched in 2020. Open to citizens of visa-free countries (98+ nationalities). Requires: remote worker/freelancer/employee of foreign employer status, minimum income of USD 2,000/month or USD 24,000 in savings, health insurance. As of June 2025, Georgia passed amendments requiring mandatory work permits for foreign nationals (including remote workers) starting March 1, 2026, which may significantly affect or effectively end this program. Current status as of 2026 is uncertain. This is not a separate visa category but a formalization scheme for visa-free nationals staying long-term.

D1 Immigration Visa (Labour and Entrepreneurial Activity)

Foreign nationals coming to Georgia to conduct labour/employment activity, to work under a concluded contract, to act as representatives or consultants of companies and firms performing official duties, or to carry out entrepreneurial (business) activity.

Long-stay national (immigration) visa applied for at a Georgian diplomatic mission or consular office abroad - NOT available through the e-visa portal. Issued with the right of multiple entries and with either 90-day or 1-year validity and duration of stay. Normally the gateway to a work residence permit for stays beyond the visa period. Decision made within 30 calendar days of application (Government Ordinance No. 280). From 1 March 2026, mandatory work permit rules for foreign nationals also apply.

D2 Immigration Visa (Professional, Freelance, Scientific/Cultural/Sports Missions, Internship and Volunteering)

Foreign nationals arriving for a scientific, sports, cultural or educational mission; freelancers; persons taking an internship or serving as volunteers; and mass-media workers performing official duties in Georgia.

Long-stay national (immigration) visa applied for at a Georgian diplomatic mission or consular office abroad. Issued with multiple entries and 90-day or 1-year validity/stay. Covers freelancers and professional/cultural/sports/educational missions that are not standard employment (D1). Decision made within 30 calendar days of application (Government Ordinance No. 280).

D3 Immigration Visa (Study and Research)

Foreign nationals coming to study or conduct research at authorised educational institutions in Georgia, or to study under international programmes.

Long-stay study visa applied for at a Georgian diplomatic mission or consular office abroad. This is distinct from the under-90-day 'Study and Training' e-visa: D3 is required for degree programmes and other studies lasting longer than 90 days. Issued with multiple entries and 90-day or 1-year validity/stay; gateway to a study residence permit. Decision made within 30 calendar days (Government Ordinance No. 280).

D4 Immigration Visa (Family Reunification)

Foreign nationals coming to Georgia for family reunification with a family member lawfully residing in Georgia.

Long-stay national (immigration) visa for family reunification, applied for at a Georgian diplomatic mission or consular office abroad. Issued with multiple entries and 90-day or 1-year validity/stay; gateway to a family residence permit. Decision made within 30 calendar days of application (Government Ordinance No. 280).

D5 Immigration Visa (Real Property Owners)

Foreign nationals who, under the procedure established by Georgian law, hold the right of ownership of real property (real estate) within the territory of Georgia.

Long-stay national (immigration) visa for owners of real property in Georgia, applied for at a Georgian diplomatic mission or consular office abroad. Distinct from the separately-tracked residence-permit-by-investment (RBI) programme - this is the entry visa tied to property ownership. Issued with multiple entries and 90-day or 1-year validity/stay. Decision made within 10 calendar days of application - faster than other D categories (Government Ordinance No. 280).
