No visa documents are needed for a short visit β Qatari citizens enter Montenegro with just a valid passport. If you apply for a longer-stay visa, these are the exact documents required, by visa type, from the official visa application centre.

- Valid travel document (Passport) - the validity period of the travel document in which the visa is entered must be at least three months longer than the validity period of the visa. - Proof of the purpose of stay in Montenegro (letter of guarantee from a natural person or letter of invitation from a legal entity, state authority in Montenegro or organizer of an international meeting or event), - Proof of possession of means of support (certificate or other proof of bank account balance or other appropriate confirmation of possession of means or regular income, as well as cash, traveller's cheque, credit cards, etc. A foreigner is considered to have means of support if he or she has financial means in the amount of at least 50.00 euros for each day of the requested stay). - Proof of health insurance, - Proof of payment of consular fee (ICR issued by VFS). - The applicant may also submit other evidence on the basis of which the justification of the visa application can be assessed: - Proof of secured accommodation (certificate of paid tourist arrangement, hotel or other accommodation reservation), - Proof of means of travel or intention to return to the country from which he comes or to a third country (return ticket, traffic and driving license). - Consent of the ANB (Agency for National Security) - Manually issued visa.
digital_nomadD Visa - Digital Nomad
- Valid travel document (Passport) - the validity period of the travel document in which the visa is entered must be at least three months longer than the validity period of the visa, - Proof of the purpose of stay in Montenegro (employment contract or other document proving that the person performs work through communication technology for a foreign employer or his/her own company which is not registered in Montenegro - A certified copy of the registration of the company the applicant works for, or his/her own company issued by the competent authority of the foreign country in which the company is registered, - Proof that the consular fee has been charged. The applicant can also submit other supporting documents on the basis of which the justification of the visa application can be assessed: - Financial documents showing that the applicant have sufficient funds available during his/her stay in Montenegro, as well as for return to the home country or for traveling to a third country (monthly income (if this information is not indicated in the employment contract), cash, checkβs, bank statements etc.); - Proof of ensured accommodation. - Proof that you have not been convicted of criminal offences from your home country or a country in which you have resided for more than one year before arriving in Montenegro (this document will be required when applying for work and resident permit at the Ministry of Interior -Police Department of the city where you plan to stay in Montenegro). - Valid travel document (Passport) - the validity period of the travel document in which the visa is entered must be at least three months longer than the validity period of the visa, - Proof that the applicant is a member of the immediate family of a Montenegrin citizen or a foreigner who has been granted permanent or temporary residence in Montenegro - A guaranteed letter from the Montenegrin citizen or foreigner whose immediate family member the applicant is, or other proof that this Montenegrin citizen or foreigner will cover the costs of the applicant's stay in Montenegro, including accommodation and living expenses, as well as the costs of leaving Montenegro. - Proof of payment of the consular fee. Allows remote workers employed by or owning a company not registered in Montenegro to reside in Montenegro for up to 180 days as a bridging status before obtaining a digital nomad temporary residence permit.
Subcategory of Type D long-stay visa specifically for digital nomads. Requires proof of remote employment or ownership of a foreign-registered company, financial means, accommodation, and health insurance. For stays beyond 180 days, applicants must apply for the Digital Nomad Temporary Residence Permit (up to 2 years, renewable once for 2 more years) at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Allows foreign nationals admitted to an educational institution in Montenegro to reside for the duration of their studies, up to 180 days initially before transitioning to a temporary residence permit.
Subcategory of Type D long-stay visa. Issued for purposes of studies at accredited Montenegrin educational institutions. Proof of enrolment required. Longer-term students apply for a temporary residence permit for studies after entry.

Allows foreign nationals requiring medical treatment in Montenegro to stay beyond 90 days, up to a maximum of 180 days within a 12-month period.
Subcategory of Type D long-stay visa. Requires documentation confirming the medical treatment to be received in Montenegro, from a recognised Montenegrin medical facility.

Main work authorisation for a foreign national employed by a Montenegrin employer; a single (unified) permit combining the right of temporary residence and the right to work.
Issued for a validity period of one year and may be extended up to two years. Requirements include a written offer of employment, proof of education and professional qualifications, and a health certificate. Application submitted in person to the ministry responsible in the foreigner's area of residence. After entry a Type D long-stay visa or visa-free entry precedes application; the permit itself is issued by the Ministry of Interior / labour authority.

Work authorisation for foreign nationals performing seasonal work (e.g. tourism, hospitality, agriculture) for a Montenegrin employer.
Issued for a validity period of up to six months within a period of one year. Requirements mirror the standard employment permit (written job offer, proof of qualifications, health certificate). Submitted in person at the responsible ministry.

Work authorisation for an employee of a foreign company providing services in Montenegro under a service contract concluded with a Montenegrin entity.
Issued for one year and may be extended until the end of the service or up to two years. Requires the service contract, proof of employment with the foreign company, and confirmation of social insurance coverage. Submitted in person at the responsible ministry.

Work authorisation for a manager or specialist seconded from a foreign company to a related entity in Montenegro (intra-corporate transfer).
Issued for one year and may be extended until completion of the works or up to two years. Applicant must have been employed by the foreign company for at least one year and hold manager or specialist status; confirmation of social insurance is required. Submitted in person at the responsible ministry.

Short-term work authorisation, without a full temporary residence and work permit, for enumerated categories such as business visitors, consultants, researchers, athletes, and artists/cultural workers.
Allows work for up to 90 days within a period of one year for specific categories of foreigners (e.g. persons performing business activities, researchers, athletes, cultural and artistic workers). Registered in person at the responsible ministry before work begins; it is a work registration rather than a residence permit.
