Employment Visa
Entry for foreign nationals taking up employment in Myanmar.
Initial single-entry Employment Visa (USD 50, 70 days) is obtained from Myanmar embassy abroad. After arrival, a Stay Permit must be obtained from the Ministry of Immigration. Multiple-entry versions available for extended validity. Work permit from Ministry of Labour is required separately.

Entry for foreign nationals attending meditation retreats or undertaking monastic/religious training at a Myanmar meditation centre, monastery, or under a Sayadaw.
Myanmar is the only country that issues a dedicated Meditation Visa. Single-entry USD 50, 70 days stay, valid 3 months from issue; multiple-entry options USD 150 (3 months), USD 300 (6 months), USD 450 (1 year). Requires a sponsorship/invitation letter from a recognized Myanmar meditation centre, monastery, or Sayadaw plus approval from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (approval can take 2-4 months); embassy processing thereafter is roughly 5-7 business days. Extendable in-country at the Immigration Department (up to 1 year per extension). Distinct from the Religious Visa, which covers missionary/clergy work. Confirmed as a separate category by Myanmar Consulate Hong Kong and the Embassy of Myanmar, Ottawa.
